The nearest train station to the Aeolian Islands is Milazzo (ME). N.B. from the Milazzo station to the Port (where there are several departures to the Aeolian Islands) public service by bus or taxi (about 4 km).

How to move on the island of Lipari
The URSO BUS company offers connections from Lipari to different locations of the isle and, in particular, to the beaches, up to Canneto. From Canneto there are water taxis up to the different beaches.
The URSO BUS also offers a direct bus connection from Lipari to Canneto and the Lipari-Canneto-Cave di Pomice (Pumice quarries)-Acquacalda link.
There is also a shuttle-water taxi service to reach the most beautiful beaches, with no time restrictions, with the shuttles of LUANA (cell. 331 5040066),

If you come to Lipari By car, it’s important to know that …..
From July 1st 2018 to September 30th 2018 only cars belonging to residents are allowed to enter Lipari island.
Bringing a car for a short period is not worthwhile: we suggest that you leave your car on Sicily mainland and rent another car as you get to the Island.
Anyway, If you want to reach Lipari with your own vehicle ( car,motorcycle…) it’s necessary to show your house reservation
for at least 7 days booked in advanced.
With this reservation we can issue in advance a permission to let you reach Lipari with your own vehicle.
